Description

Original Third Reich German Badge Lot 1936: Overview

Six badges and commemorative pins of the mid-1930s, several of them clearly dated 1936, which places the group in a specific moment just before the war. Both sides of every piece are photographed, showing inscriptions, pin systems and maker information.

What the Lot Contains

  • 1 Mai 1936: Labour Day badge with industrial and national imagery; horizontal pin; reverse marked “M. Gechsler & Sohn – Ansbach”.
  • Rhön 1936: rectangular blue and white badge with a gliding motif. The Rhön was the centre of German gliding between the wars, which makes dated Rhön material a specialist field in its own right.
  • “Freiheit und Brot – 29. März 1936”: circular badge for the Reichstag election of 29 March 1936; vertical pin.
  • Portrait pin: gold-coloured, with a left-facing portrait of Adolf Hitler and inscription; vertical pin.
  • Two smaller silver-coloured insignia: one with an eagle-style composition, one elongated teardrop-shaped with a dark central insert. Their markings are not fully legible, so no attribution is made.
