Description

Reinhard Heydrich Signed Gestapo Document – Original 1937 Secret State Police Circular

This Reinhard Heydrich signed Gestapo document is an original German Secret State Police circular dated Berlin, 5 January 1937. Issued from the Geheimes Staatspolizeiamt, or Secret State Police Office, it was addressed to the heads of all State Police offices. The document transmits an official copy of guidelines issued by the Reichsführer-SS and Chief of the German Police within the Reich Ministry of the Interior.

The Reinhard Heydrich signed Gestapo document is a complete original historical record, not a detached signature, autograph card, modern reproduction or facsimile. It retains its official Gestapo heading, typed content, Berlin date, reference number, routing information, administrative stamp, filing holes and original handwritten Heydrich signature.

The heading identifies the issuing body as “Geheime Staatspolizei” and “Geheimes Staatspolizeiamt.” The document is dated “Berlin, den 5. Januar 1937” and addressed “An die Leiter sämtlicher Staatspolizeistellen,” meaning “To the heads of all State Police offices.” This direct institutional address gives the item strong historical and documentary value.

The subject line refers to guidelines issued by the Reichsführer-SS and Chief of the German Police in the Reich Ministry of the Interior. The body text states that a copy is being forwarded for official information and that a copy of the decree concerning the relevant guidelines is enclosed. Although the letter itself is brief, its significance comes from its official Gestapo origin, its date, its nationwide circulation and the original Heydrich autograph.

This Reinhard Heydrich signed Gestapo document was created during the early consolidation of the Nazi police and security system. It predates the Second World War but belongs directly to the machinery of persecution and surveillance that expanded throughout the late 1930s and wartime years. It must therefore be preserved and interpreted in full historical context.

Reinhard Heydrich was one of the principal officials involved in the leadership of the Nazi security apparatus. The Gestapo became a central institution of political repression, surveillance, arbitrary detention and persecution under the regime. This document is offered only as evidence of that historical system and not as an item of political admiration or ideological endorsement.

The value of this Reinhard Heydrich signed Gestapo document lies in several elements. First, it is a complete official document rather than a simple signature. Second, it is dated 1937, before the outbreak of the Second World War. Third, it carries a direct Gestapo heading and was circulated to all State Police offices. Finally, it bears a clear handwritten Heydrich signature beneath the typed transmission text.

The document’s format is visually strong and highly displayable. The official heading occupies the upper left, while the Berlin date is shown in the upper right. The typed content is cleanly arranged and the signature appears prominently in the lower centre. The sparse layout makes the autograph immediately visible while retaining the official administrative character of the document.

Condition is good for a fragile document of this period. The sheet shows normal age toning, light handling wear, original filing holes at the left edge, a faint administrative stamp and minor paper imperfections. These elements are consistent with original government office paperwork that was filed and retained. The document should be reviewed carefully through the supplied photographs.

No independent certificate of authenticity is included unless expressly stated. The sale includes only the original signed Gestapo document shown in the photographs. No frame, translation, archival folder, additional attachment or related correspondence is included.

For collectors of original Second World War-era documents, Gestapo records, Nazi-era administrative material, German police history and historical autographs, this Reinhard Heydrich signed Gestapo document is a scarce and significant survivor. Its appeal rests on the original signature, direct institutional origin, early 1937 date and nationwide State Police circulation.

This Reinhard Heydrich signed Gestapo document is offered strictly for responsible historical research, archival preservation, education and serious collecting. It does not promote, justify, minimise or glorify National Socialism, the Gestapo, antisemitism, racial persecution, political repression, violence or any ideology connected with the period.
