Description

Simon Wiesenthal: Overview

An original card signed by Simon Wiesenthal, dated 9 December 1976. It carries a small black-and-white portrait photograph in the upper left corner, his large signature in blue ink across the centre, his typed name below and the date “9.12.1976” printed on the right. The photograph, typed name and date give it context and presentation value beyond a simple cut signature.

Historical Context

Simon Wiesenthal was a Holocaust survivor who devoted his post-war life to documenting the crimes of the period and tracing those responsible, and to preserving the memory of the victims. His name is closely tied to remembrance, documentation and historical accountability.

Collectible condition, with age-related toning and light handling marks consistent with a paper item from the 1970s. The signature remains clear and prominent. Please review the photographs, which form part of the description.

Authenticity

Offered as an original hand-signed autograph. Assessment of a signature rests on a coherent set of features (line quality, writing movement, pressure and comparison with documented examples) rather than any single detail. A written examination by a qualified handwriting examiner can be provided on request.

Care

Store in an acid-free sleeve or archival folder, away from direct sunlight and humidity, and never apply adhesive directly to the card.
