Description
DOC138 – Original German Reich Reisepass issued to Anna Müller, an authentic early 20th-century German travel passport with period handwritten entries, official stamps and an American Consular Service visa/fee document dated 9 November 1923.
This is a highly attractive historical paper collectible for collectors of original passports, civil documents, migration history, German administrative records and transatlantic travel documentation. The cover reads “Deutsches Reich – Reise-Pass” and features the period German eagle design, giving the item a clean and immediately recognisable appearance. Inside, the passport contains handwritten personal information, descriptive details, official purple stamps, signatures and travel-related endorsements. One of the most interesting features is the American Consular Service document attached inside, showing a one-dollar consular fee receipt and official validation connected with U.S. travel or consular processing.
The passport records personal information for Anna Müller, including civil details such as occupation, birthplace, residence, physical description and other identification fields. The internal pages include formal passport layout sections for photograph, signature, validity, extensions and administrative use. The photo field appears unused or without a portrait photograph, while the surrounding official stamps and handwritten entries remain visible and add strong visual and documentary character.
The American consular element makes this piece especially interesting. German passports from the 1920s are already collectible, but examples connected to U.S. consular processing are particularly desirable because they reflect real movement, bureaucracy and travel control during the interwar period. This was a time when identity documents, visas and consular checks became increasingly important for international movement. For collectors, this gives the document value beyond its physical appearance: it is not simply a passport, but a small archive of personal mobility and administrative history.
Condition is consistent with an original handled paper document of this age. The passport shows visible age toning, surface wear, handling marks, small creases, folds, minor staining and general signs of use. The cover remains present and visually strong, with the internal pages showing stamps, handwriting and consular material clearly enough for display and study. The attached American Consular Service paper also shows fold lines and age-related wear, as expected from a document that has remained inside the passport for many decades.
This item is offered as an original historical collectible only. It is suitable for collectors, researchers, archivists, museums, prop departments and anyone interested in original European identity documents, travel permits, consular history or personal paper archives. It is not a modern reproduction and is sold as a second-hand historical paper item with all imperfections shown in the photographs.
The document has no ideological purpose and is presented strictly for historical, educational and collecting interest. Please review all images carefully, as they form an essential part of the description and show the exact condition, stamps, handwriting and structure of the item.
