Description

Albert Speer: Overview

A printed book page with photographic content relating to the final period of the Second World War, signed in ink with two signatures of Albert Speer and Karl Dönitz. Two signatures of the same historical moment on a single surviving page are more interesting than isolated cut signatures.

Historical Context

Albert Speer was Minister of Armaments from 1942; Grand Admiral Karl Dönitz commanded the Kriegsmarine and briefly succeeded Hitler as head of state in May 1945. Both were tried at Nuremberg and imprisoned at Spandau. The page belongs to the documentary history of the end of the war.

Condition
