Description

German Reisepass: Overview

A German passport issued in Mannheim on 22 December 1932 to Peter Stein, with his wife Marie Stein included. Unusually, it carries two original portrait photographs, one of each holder, both fixed to the identification page with official ink stamps. Later stamps and handwritten travel entries show that it was actually used.

No further provenance is recorded.

Authenticity

Offered as an original period document on the basis of paper, printing, stamps, handwriting and ageing, which are consistent with each other and with the dates recorded.
