Description
This original German Reisepass is an attractive and well-preserved civilian travel passport issued during the early 1930s. The document belonged to a female holder whose name appears as Minna Harting, written by hand on the main identification page. It includes the original portrait photograph, handwritten personal details, official ink stamps and the issuing authority of Amt Delmenhorst.
The passport cover reads “Deutsches Reich – Reise-Pass” and presents the simple brown card style typical of official travel documents of the period. Inside, the main title page displays “Deutsches Reich – Reisepass” with the printed eagle emblem, passport number, name of the passport holder and nationality entry. The document contains a clear identification photograph of the holder, stamped across with official ink impressions. These details make the piece especially interesting for collectors because the passport is not blank or unused, but a named and fully documented example.
The personal description page records several handwritten details about the holder, including occupation, place of birth, date of birth, residence and physical description. From the visible entries, the holder appears to have been connected with Delmenhorst / Deichhorst, with official municipal stamps visible on the photo and issuing pages. The passport validity section shows the document was issued by Amt Delmenhorst and appears to have been valid until 3 May 1934, with the issuing date written on the lower part of the page.
The document is especially suitable for collectors of original German passports, identity documents, civilian administration, travel paperwork, women’s documents, genealogy-related ephemera and interwar European paper collectibles. It offers a personal and human historical connection because it preserves the identity of an individual rather than being a generic form. The inclusion of the original photo gives the item additional character and display value.
The design of the passport is also visually appealing. The interior pages feature patterned security paper, printed administrative sections, handwritten entries and ink stamps. The contrast between the plain exterior cover and the more detailed interior pages gives the document strong collector presence. Items of this type are increasingly appreciated by collectors who focus not only on military material but also on the civilian documentation that reflects everyday administrative life in Germany during the first half of the twentieth century.
Condition is used and consistent with an original period document. The cover shows age toning, rubbing, surface marks, light corner wear and general handling signs. The interior pages remain presentable, with visible stamps, handwriting and the original photograph still attached. There may be minor bends, paper ageing, small marks and natural wear from use and storage. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an essential part of the description.
This passport is offered strictly as an original historical collectible for research, documentation and collecting purposes. It is not offered with any political or ideological meaning. Its value lies in its historical, documentary and collector interest as an original civilian travel document.
A strong example of an early 1930s German Reisepass, with original portrait photograph, named female holder, official Delmenhorst stamps and attractive period paper design.
