This Original Third Reich German Badge Lot 1936 brings together six German badges and commemorative pins associated with civilian, political and event-related organizations of National Socialist Germany during the mid-1930s. The group is particularly interesting because several pieces are clearly dated 1936, allowing the collection to be placed within a very specific historical period immediately before the Second World War.

1 Mai 1936 German Commemorative Badge

One of the larger pieces carries the clearly visible date “1 MAI 1936” together with industrial and national imagery typical of German Labour Day commemorative badges of the period.

Condition

All six pieces show varying degrees of age-related wear consistent with historical metal insignia, including surface oxidation, patina, scratches, finish loss and wear to raised details.

The reverse photographs are especially important and clearly show the surviving pins, fittings and construction.

No restoration or modern cleaning should be assumed from the photographs. For collectors, the existing patina forms part of the historical character of the group.
